Divert guttering water. Take a feed from the down pipe to feed a water storage tank for general garden use. If space is an issue, use a thin tank.

Fix Dripping Taps. Not just wasting water but costing you money. It's surprising how much water just drips away.

Fix Overflowing Water Tanks. You could be losing tens of liters a day. Adjust or replace the ball valve. It may even be just a washer.

Put a brick in your toilet cistern. Yes, you read that right. Make sure that it's clear of the mechanism. A simple builders brick will save water on every flush.

Fit a toilet cistern wash basin. Go the extra mile. Wash you hands in the sink, and the used water ends up in the cistern and is available for dual-flush as above.

Save Shower Water. By putting a washing up bowl in the shower and standing in it, you can collect the used water for reuse to flush the toilet, or even water your plants. This may become the norm as water supplies dwindle.

Fit a Dual Flush toilet cistern. If you can spare a little cash this cistern will use less water on a frequent half flush, but still have the power with a full flush when needed.

Reuse Aircon Water. Put a container under the aircon drip pipe, and collect the water. DO NOT DRINK IT. But you can use it for your steam iron, topping up car washers, washing the car, watering plants.
